2012 Fisher Cats Reading Challenge |

On December 20th, we had a visit from the New Hampshire Fisher Cats and their mascot, Fungo, to kick off our incentive reading program.
Students are being asked to read five books (at their level) that are outside the required classroom reading assignments from now until March 15th. If we reach 100% participation, we will qualify for a monetary prize that can be used to purchase more books for the students. All students who participate will also receive two free tickets to one of five Reading Challenge Nights for a game at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium in New Hampshire.
We would like to monitor the student progress to help keep students motivated to achieve this goal so please bring the completed Reading Challenge card that was sent home back to school when your child has completed reading the five books. We will record them and send them along to the Fisher Cats with your requested ticket information.

An easy way to support our school!
The Vining runs a gift card program thoughout the year. Purchase your gift cards from the school and a portion of your gift card purchase is returned to the school. It's a great way to support the Vining school programs.
When you purchase your gift cards from the school, a portion of your gift card purchase is returned to the school. Last year our school raised over $1,400 with our gift cards. Currently the Vining has an inventory of gift cards including AMC, Showcase Cinemas, 99 Restaurant, Starbucks, Duncan Donuts, Target and more. Did you know that the Vining school receives money for recycling? If you have the following items, please consider bringing them to the school for recycling:
- Used books—No matter what condition they are in, put them in the purple
“Got Books” bin that is located in the front of the school.
- Ink cartridges and cell phones—Send these items to school with your child. When your child brings these items to the office, they are placed in the blue box located across from the school office—below the PTO bulletin board.
- Newspapers, catalogs and magazines—Drop them off any time in the yellow
and green dumpster located behind the school. Note: the dumpster is on the same side as the cafeteria—behind the kindergarten and first grade wing. Visit the www.paperretriever.com website for information on what can and cannot be recycled in the yellow and green dumpster behind the school.
